Resources included in the Biodiversity in the schoolyard kit allow educators to undertake challenging activities with students, to better understand the importance and role of biodiversity in the natural environment. Resources are presented electronically, to be accessible by all, and were layed out to be printed or easily viewed.
Each of these activities has its own lesson plan that outlines the objectives of the activity, explains the preparation and unfolding of the activity, and gives a link to listings that are necessary to perform the activity. The lesson plan includes sample questions and answers to provide context and an evaluation of the activity, and explains ways to vary the activity in order to make it more challenging for different grade levels. The lesson plan also gives examples of possible follow-up ideas that enable the integration of the activity and includes a list of references.
