According to the « Trees of Knowledge » handbook by Geoffrey A. Ritchie, forest regions of the Maritime Provinces, known as the Acadian Forest, consist of a unique mix of deciduous and coniferous trees.

The province of NB has listed 406 (2004) bird species. In the Cocagne watershed, 244 species have been recorded to date (2017).

We have 89 butterfly species here in the Maritimes and about 50 different ones in the Cocagne River watershed. You can start your own butterfly list and discover this great diversity that surrounds you.
