Cocagne - The Pays de Cocagne Sustainable Development Group, in collaboration with the Cocagne Emergency Measures Planning Committee is selling 72-hour Emergency Kits for the citizens of Cocagne.

The Climate Change Adaptation Plan recently adopted by the Cocagne Municipal Council encourages citizens to prepare for an increase in adverse weather conditions. The Cocagne Emergency Measures Planning Committee, in accordance with the Red Cross, recommends keeping an emergency kit with sufficient supplies (water, food) and an emergency kit to provide for at least 72 hours (3 days) in the event of a long-term power outage.

The value of the kit is approximately 125$. Thanks to a contribution from the New Brunswick Environmental Trust Fund, the purchase price is reduced to 75$.

You can view the contents of the kit, place an order, and make a payment (by cash or check payable to GDDPC) in person at the Cocagne municipal office, located next to the Cocagne Arena. Please call the municipal office at 576-2202 to make an appointment.

View the list and photos of the items in the kit or visit the Facebook page of GDDPC, EMO-Cocagne and the Rural Community of Cocagne.

Orders must be placed no later than December 4, 2020. With the funding received to subsidize the price of the kit, there are only 20 kits for sale at this time. If 20 kits are sold, a waiting list will be taken. If further funding becomes available, another sale will be held.

As soon as the kits are ready, you will be notified and then asked to collect your kit.

For more information, please contact the GDDPC at 506-576-8247 or the Cocagne municipal office at 506-576-2202.
