Shibori la teinture à lindigo 1ERE
Rediscovering and passing on the heritage of natural dyes

For the past three years, we have been using roots, bark, leaves, flowers, mushrooms and other plants to grow and harvest natural dyes in a sustainable manner in the Cocagne River watershed. Our goal is to rediscover, learn and share the heritage of natural dyes.

This summer, we are organizing a 3rd workshop that will focus on indigo, an ancestral dye plant that gives blue. We will cover a technique called "shibori" to create various effects with stones, sewing, tweezers and other objects. We will do one or more dips to get lighter or darker colors.

This is a family activity and children are welcome. The workshop will be open to 15 people plus children who can participate. The cost is $20 and please bring your lunch. All materials for the workshop are provided.

The indigo workshop with Bernadette Goguen and Marie-Claude Hébert will be held on Sunday June 13, 2021 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Marcel Goguen farm at 475 ch. Cocagne Sud in Cocagne.
