We have 89 butterfly species here in the Maritimes and about 50 different ones in the Cocagne River watershed. You can start your own butterfly list and discover this great diversity that surrounds you.

The GDDPC regularly organizes outings in the summertime to learn how to identify butterflies. Here is naturalist Louis-Émile Cormier’s butterfly list.
