Cocagne - This summer during Acadian World Congress in Cocagne, more than 60 people visited the PCSDG booth at the marina of Cocagne. People shared with us their concerns and advice regarding the changing climate. These comments will inform the climate change adaptation plan for the Cocagne watershed. In addition, visitors have discovered Monarch butterflies in caterpillar, chrysalis and adult form.

A report of the climate analysis carried out for the Cocagne watershed predicts an increase in the number of extremely hot days and very wet days in the years to come. Strategies to deal with these impacts are needed to adapt to climate change. The GDDPC is currently developing a plan for the communities of Cocagne and Grande-Digue, in collaboration with the Université de Moncton, the Kent Regional Service Commission, the NB Climate Change Secretariat, and the New Brunswick Environmental Network. To learn more about these strategies, or to share your own, visit the project page or contact us.
