Let's take care of our land of plenty!

The Pays de Cocagne Sustainable Development Group's (PCSDG) mission is to engage citizen participation towards the sustainability of Cocagne watershed communities
The year 2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the passing of a crucial law that has been put in place to safeguard migratory bird species in North America. In the spring of 2018, Roland Chiasson of the Aster group will offer training sessions on the identification of habitats and behaviors of forest birds.

Roland Chiasson will then visit the forests (about 10 visits) to provide follow-up support to those who participated in the training sessions. During the 2017 field season, coordinators and technicians from various watershed groups (20 people) received training on the detection and identification of bird species at risk in southeastern New Brunswick. Several participants expressed a keen interest in bird identification and the desire to learn about other bird species, particularly woodland birds. This project aims to increase the capacity of watershed groups in southeastern New Brunswick, woodlot owners and forest technicians to identify birds in the forest.
