Dr. Omer Chouinard and Dr. Anne Fauré, professor and post-doctoral researcher of Environmental Studies at the Université de Moncton, presented the French policy brief "The Process of Adaptation to Climate Change in the Cocagne-Grande-Digue Community"  to an audience of about 40 citizens on Monday, January 29. The presentation of this guidance document highlights the vulnerability of coastal communities in the Cocagne watershed to climate change.

The coastal communities of the Cocagne watershed have the capacity to adopt policies, plans, and programs to adapt to climate change, thanks to the support of various local and regional partnerships, as well as support from many other provincial and federal public agencies. Dr. Chouinard and Dr. Fauré explained how these partnerships provide important access to adaptation expertise and risk assessment.

The Pays de Cocagne Sustainable Development Group (PCSDG) plans to forward this policy brief to local and provincial decision makers, and we invite you to do the same. If you would like a paper copy of the paper, please contact the PCSDG. Do not hesitate to send us your comments.
