Centre 50 de Cocagne - 6:30 PM

Following this summer's ARTisticc project meeting of international delegates in Cocagne, a public presentation will be held Wednesday, November 29th, to share some of the results of the project.

Dr. Gregory Kennedy, Associate Professeur, Department of History and Geography, and Research Director of l’Institut d'études acadiennes of l’Université de Moncton, and Amélie Montour, Master’s Student in History at l’Université de Moncton, will present the results of their research on the ways that families for the Cocagne and Grande-Digue region adapted to environmental and economic changes during the period from 1870 to 1960. Their presentation will focus on the origins of the exodus from the countryside, changes within families, and the importance of women’s contributions to the household economy in the region.

Dr Céline Surette, associate professor at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry of l’Université de Moncton, in collaboration with her team, will present work on watershed changes in the Cocagne River. She will present how fish population evolved during the 2003-2015 period. With sedimentary core profiles, she will show how we can understand past environmental changes and the health of the watershed.

The presentation will take place on Wednesday, November 29th at 6:30 pm, at the Centre 50, 10 Villa St in Cocagne. A light snack will be served. FREE!

Learn how to properly clean your own seeds, using PCDSG's hand-made tools and equipment including our wind-column seed cleaner (pictured below), which works fantastically for a variety of seeds that are otherwise difficult and time-consuming to clean and sort out (grains, beans, seeds for sprouting, etc).  Other tools include various sieves, baskets, flail, fans, and more. In case of a storm, the snowdate will be January 20th.
